Gary Brown, Sa Bom Nim began Martial Arts study in 1977.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina with BS degree in Physical Education and Achieved Cho Dan in 1981.
His career as Teacher/Coach began in Horry County Schools in 1981. In January 1983 he opened his school.
He earned a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina along with Principals certification K-12 in 1986. In 1991 he was promoted to 4th dan and was appointed as Region 3 Examiner. In 1992 he opened a second school in Myrtle Beach.
Sa Bom Nim Brown has served on United States Tang Soo Do/Soo Bahk Do Federation Board of Directors for 18 years holding Executive office for 16 of those years, twice as Chairman of Board.
He was promoted to Pal Dan in 2016. He is a student of Moo Duk Kwan President and Kwan Jang, H.C. Hwang.
He ia also an avid golfer and achieved PGA class A certified Golf Professional status in 2004.
In 1995, he stopped his teaching career to pursue teaching Soo Bahk Do as a full-time school owner.
